During this period, women specially wear black.So some ideas to celebrate Sankrant in a creative way 1. You can give Tilgul in a decorative box:

As it's Makar Sankranti I have used white and black color combination for rangoli to grace the occasion.

3. Makar Sankrant Haldi Kunku Rangoli: Sankrant Haldi Kunku is a special day for the women in Maharashtra when married women are invited for a get-together called ‘Haldi-Kumkum’ and given gifts. As it's Makar Sankranti Haldi ~ Kunku I have used yellow color of Haldi and Red color of Kunku to design the rangoli.
